workshop animal in clay 27 December 1-5 pm
Making an animal from pinch pots. (3-4 hrs) It is a super fun and do-able technique in which you can put as much creativity as you want.
A fantasy animal will give you lots of freedom for creating ! But, if you have an idea on an animal you want to do- bring photos- Remember that a Wombat is easier than a Giraffe, because long thin clay bits will slump or break while drying, so it takes a lot more luck to dry it right.
We will create the animal, dry it as far as we can in my drying cabinet, then colour with underglazes. This will be a bit rudimentary colouring, but it will look great, you just can't work very detailed on wet clay.
I will then bisque-fire and put a clear glaze over the animals- and glaze fire.
