Some days you just feel happy ,walking around- you develop a swagger, and everyone sees you are feeling good! 'Great day' is a bird that is happy. Probably because I started making him during covid isolation, but I only really got going when restrictions were lifted and everything felt light again. The original was made in soft wax, then cast in bronze and colourful patinas.

Happy Dance is a bird that is clearly overjoyed! Is it because it is a beautiful day? Is it because we are free, and can go where we want? Is is because we are just so lucky - to be in this beautiful country ? Or is it just because? You will know.

Drinking Giraffe
With my Giraffes I was looking for the limits in the material, both wax and bronze. I loved finding how thin I could go in neck and legs, as a personal challenge. It turned out to be pretty challenging to the foundry as well- And, believe me- the foundry did not thank me for that!
The drinking giraffe is mounted on a block of chocolate elm- a rare wood- and has his drinking hole in the rough bark area of the wood. Base and sculpture go extremely well together. Drinking Giraffe can be part of a group, or can be a sculpture on its own. $1500. 20x25x20cm

EligiusEligius is one of my few human form sculptures. I imagine him on a journey full of peril, protecting an animal from an unseen enemy. This idea became more and more poignant during a year of unforeseen influences from outside that turned out to be an invisible danger. Ciment fondu is an amazingly versatile material that works well worked in mould work, and in building up. In this sculpture I have used both techniques- leading to a varying surface effect. Placed outside it will acquire and interesting patina brought on by the elements. This way it never stops evolving. Ciment fondu, wax 80 x 65x 50 $750 Photography; Rob Anderson Photography |
SkylineSkyline is a group of three giraffes, made of bronze, on a chocolate elm base.
For the giraffes in Skyline I challenged myself to find ways to stretch the material as thin as it can go- finding the fringe of what is possible in wax- and then bronze. In Skyline the group is combined- these giraffes are also available separately- on a wooden base. $4500. size 50x30x25 cm 3/5 Photography; Rob Anderson Photography |
